IBM Veteran Joins Smart Grid Leader
Redwood City, CA, September 28, 2010 – Silver Spring Networks today announced that it has named John R. Joyce as Chief Financial Officer and Vice Chairman of the Company. John succeeds Warren Jenson who is now the company’s Chief Operating Officer.
John enjoyed a 30-year career at IBM Corporation. During his tenure at IBM, John served in a variety of capacities, most recently as Senior Vice President and Group Executive for IBM Global Services and as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to these appointments, John served as President of IBM Asia Pacific. Most recently, he spent five years as a Managing Director of Silver Lake Partners, a leading technology investment firm with over $14 billion in assets under management.

John will be responsible for all aspects of the Company’s financial operations and take an active leadership role in strategy development, international growth and customer engagements. In addition to his role at Silver Spring, John serves on the Board of Directors of the Hewlett-Packard Company.
