UtilityIQ® Outage Detection System (ODS) turns raw outage data from the AMI network into actionable insights in your Outage Management System (OMS), enabling you to unlock additional value from your smart grid.

The UtilityIQ Outage Detection System software analyzes outage events to enable utilities to properly scope an outage, distinguish momentary from sustained outages, ignore outage alerts triggered by maintenance events, and track restored devices to identify nested outages. UtilityIQ ODS leverages data from the Advanced Metering system to provide historical outage logs and visual presentation of outage and restoration status along with a rich set of data interfaces for delivering this information into an existing OMS.

UtilityIQ Outage Detection System simplifies integration with existing systems and enables powerful workflow development. The software performs real-time, complex event filtering to ensure that only relevant actionable data is forwarded to the OMS. In addition, the OMS can query UtilityIQ ODS for specific information, such as the restoration status of affected meters. Silver Spring has also simplified the integration between AMI and OMS, through the use of CIM-compliant data interfaces for example, to reduce costs and enable utilities to realize benefits sooner.
