CRO Magazine Names Silver Spring Networks' Scott Lang 2009 Responsible Private Company CEO of the Year

Chicago, IL – October 6, 2009 - Silver Spring Networks, a leading Smart Grid solutions provider, announced today that its Chairman, CEO and President, Scott Lang, has been selected by the editors of CRO Magazine as the 2009 Responsible CEO of the Year in the Private Company category. Winners were announced today at the CRO Summit at the Union League Club of Chicago.

The winners of CRO Magazine's CEO of the Year Award 2009 reflect the year's most important and effective leaders in professionalizing corporate responsibility practices, including governance, risk, compliance, sustainability, philanthropy and CSR, within their own organizations. According to CRO Magazine, editors selected nominees and winners based on criteria including the scope of the impact of their corporate responsibility efforts in revenue, profit or size of population served, as well as the out-front role and degree of risk taken to implement these efforts.

The CRO Responsible CEO of the Year Awards features 24 nominees and seven winners in eight categories, including Large Market; Mid Market; Small Market; Private Companies; Non Profit/NGO; Government/Regulatory; Corporate Foundation and Social Entrepreneur.
